iv downloaded Pac Steam, then i downloaded counterstrike 1.6 but when i run CS 1.6 it just freezes and does nothing...is there something im doing wrong?? PLZ HELP

ok now it works LOL sorry, but i can't start or join a server. A messege comes up saying your steam account is not bought or activated with steam, then it disconnects me :(

ok got another problem, now my CS 1.6 doesnt play anymore, instead of going to launch the game, i now have to purchase it 
its still installed and everything and on Pac Steam where is says launch game it says Purchase Game and takes me the the Steam Store to buy CS 1.6 and i dont want to buy it!! :argh:
i dont want to have to download it again, and if so i want a ligit copy :argh: one that works
